About Therapy

Therapy is about working alongside a professional to help make changes in and for yourself. Psychodynamic Psychotherapy attempts to understand how early relationships and patterns of behaviour can affect and lead to difficulties later in life. Often, the subconscious coping mechanisms we adopt can themselves become issues in our day to day lives.

Psychotherapy gives us the opportunity to spend time thinking in detail alongside a professional about how we operate as people, and our relationships with others. In gaining a greater understanding of how we as individuals work, we can lead a more balanced and contented life. Together in a safe, non-judgemental and enquiring atmosphere, there is the space to explore and think deeply about yourself, and work towards a personal resolution.

Short term therapy lasts a set amount of sessions, for example, 10-12. Together, we shall try and identify a goal and work within this timeframe to help you achieve it.

Open ended therapy does not involve setting an end date, thereby allowing more time for joint consideration. In this space, additional themes may emerge, and the therapeutic relationship can develop further.

I offer therapy in person in rooms in Central London and also online, if more suitable.

If you are interested in pursuing any of the above or simply learning more, please contact me for further details.
